The East Texas deaf and hard of hearing community say they feel ignored and under-served when it comes to receiving important weather information. A meteorologist at the University of Oklahoma recently went viral after conducting a weather forecast in American Sign Language (ASL). Mikayla Smith has been signing since she was in 7th grade. When a winter storm was tracking into her coverage area, she created a pre-taped segment catering to the deaf and hard of hearing community. Read the full story and watch the videos:
