Their emotional rendition earned a standing ovation and unanimous praise, with judge Louis Walsh remarking, “I haven’t seen anything like that before.” This inspiring performance not only showcased their exceptional talent but also highlighted the inclusivity and diversity of the arts.

“Every day, as a deaf person, you’re reminded of your deafness,” says William Mager, writer of new BBC thriller Reunion.

These reminders can range from having to face medical appointments with no available interpreter to being excluded from important decisions about your own life, he says.

“All those things add up over time and generate a sense of injustice,” Mager says, adding that artist Christine Sun Kim describes this feeling as “deaf rage”.

QR Code-Enabled BSL Memory Game Launches in UK to Boost Sign Language Learning | EdTech Innovation Hub

The Sound Waves Foundation, a UK-based charity, has launched a British Sign Language (BSL) memory card game, aiming to make sign language learning more accessible as demand for its afterschool BSL clubs continues to grow.
The game, which costs £12.99, is available through the charity’s website and is designed to help both hearing and deaf children learn everyday signs through interactive play.

The launch comes as the charity faces a shortage of qualified BSL teachers in the UK, which is stalling the expansion of its popular afterschool BSL clubs.
