Off-Broadway’s The Play That Goes Wrong will offer its first ever American Sign Language-interpreted performance this Wednesday, February 26 at 2pm. The hit comedy, currently running at New World Stages, began performances off-Broadway in February 2019, following a nearly two year-run on Broadway.
Co-written by Mischief company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, the fourth wall-smashing hybrid of Monty Python and Sherlock Holmes follows a theatre company on the opening night of their murder mystery, where things are quickly spiraling from bad to disastrous, with an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines).

‘Marlee Matlin: Not Alone Anymore’ Review: The Trailblazing Deaf Oscar Winner Opens Up in a Winning Documentary | Variety
In her documentary “Marlee Matlin: Not Alone Anymore,” the star continues to explore the at times lonesome space she has occupied since bursting on the scene in 1986: that of being a representative for deaf people, and being herself. For more than three decades, Matlin was the only deaf performer to have won an Oscar, and among the few to have what could be considered a mainstream acting career. That changed when Troy Kotsur, her co-star in the 2021 Oscar-winning drama “CODA,” took home the prize for best supporting actor.
Internationally acclaimed reggae artist Alborosie and Lovers’ Rock sensation Don Campbell will headline a landmark charity concert at Nairobi’s KICC Tsavo Ballroom on February 15, 2025.
The event will also showcase performances by renowned Kenyan artists Nazizi, Wyre, and the Gravitti Band.
Beyond entertainment, the concert aims to raise awareness and support for Kenya’s deaf community. The event is organised through a collaborative partnership between Dutch social enterprise The Long Trail’s Roots and Culture Travel brand, the Deaf Centre Kwale (a community hub serving Kwale County and Kibera), Mtaani.com, and King Lion Sounds.
“This event represents a powerful fusion of music and social change,” said Jos Wesemann, Managing Director of The Long Trail and Senior Consultant at the Deaf Centre.
Born to deaf parents and fluent in sign language, Wesemann has dedicated his career to supporting deaf communities across Africa. “When I got in touch with Alborosie last year, I invited him to be part of this movement, and he accepted. This will be his first performance in Africa with a band.”

For all its joys, gaming can be really hard. Take massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), a popular genre whose many overlapping systems often require a constant stream of information being blasted at the player. Unlike, say, first-person shooters like Call of Duty, MMOs aren’t about twitch-based gameplay or fast reaction times. They’re about working together with other players (or occasionally, against them) for a common goal, whether that goal be to gather resources or defeat an enemy too powerful to take on solo.
Launched in 2004, Blizzard’s World of Warcraft is one of the biggest and most culturally known MMOs, and to this day maintains an extremely healthy player base. In the 20 years since its release, the game has grown exponentially, with ten full expansions and even relaunches of its classic modes beginning in 2019, building toward an outright massive amount of content for players to explore alone or with others.
As with every game this size, however, there’s a certain barrier to entry. MMOs, especially, require a lot of communication to complete a task or a quest, with some members creating “guilds” to put like-minded people together. For differently-abled gamers, this presents a problem. It can be extremely difficult to coordinate with teammates or partners who don’t understand them or their individual needs, especially in the heat of the moment mid-game.
That’s where the Undaunted Guild comes in. Undaunted Guild is a group of players from the deaf and hard of hearing community whose goal is creating an inclusive environment for people to play World of Warcraft. Through the guild, a tight knit community has formed, with members making personal connections, communicating with Blizzard directly on improving their accessibility options, and leaving a lasting impact on each other and the game that they love.
Logitech G, a brand of Logitech (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) and a leading innovator in gaming technology, today announced a partnership with Airdrop Gaming, a pioneering technology company specializing in accessible gaming solutions. Airdrop Gaming’s new Audio Radar solution enables deaf and hard of hearing gamers to “see the sound” by visualizing directional audio events in games. As a part of the partnership, Logitech G will sell the Audio Radar solution on its website at www.logitechg.com.
Airdrop Gaming is the first partner in Logitech’s new Start-Up for Good initiative, a pilot program dedicated to helping companies that are creating positive social impact bring their solutions to market. As part of the program, Airdrop Gaming leveraged Logitech’s mentorship, resources, and global platform to accelerate the development of its groundbreaking Audio Radar visual sound solution for the deaf and hard of hearing community.
“Partnering with Logitech G represents a significant step toward reshaping the gaming landscape for players who are deaf and hard of hearing,” said Timothy Murphy, CEO of Airdrop Gaming. “Their expertise and dedication to innovation helped us elevate our technology and expand our reach to more gamers.”
In a landmark move aimed at improving inclusivity in the film industry, Paramount Pictures UK has partnered with the British Deaf Association (BDA) and cinemas nationwide to offer special priority screenings for the deaf, deafened, and hard-of-hearing communities. Beginning with the animated blockbuster Transformers One, these screenings will ensure that this often-overlooked audience can experience the thrill of a new release before anyone else. The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Film Distributors’ Association (Fda) and UK Cinema Association (Ukca), aims to enhance the movie-going experience for the 18 million people in the UK registered as deaf, deafened, or hard-of-hearing.
