The Association of Late Deafened Adults (ALDA) is thrilled to announce the lineup of distinguished speakers for ALDAcon 2024, the 35th Annual International Convention. This year’s event will take place from September 11-15, at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
Keynote Speaker: Phil Aiello
Phil Aiello, President of the Deaf Seniors of America, will deliver the keynote address. His address is titled, “Strong Connections: How DSA (Deaf Seniors of America) Fosters Networking and Participation, Benefits for ALDA Members”. His insights and passion promise to inspire attendees as we gather to celebrate the late-deafened community.
Plenary Speaker: Chris Littlewood
Chris Littlewood, a previous recipient of the prestigious I. King Jordan Award, will be one of our two plenary speakers. As an accomplished advocate in the field of Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Littlewood has dedicated his career to advancing accessibility, education, and empowerment for late-deafened individuals. His session, titled, “Your Best Bet for Self-Advocacy in big and LITTLE Emergencies”, promises to be enlightening and thought-provoking.
Plenary Speaker: Howard Rosenblum
Howard Rosenblum, CEO of Deaf Equality, will also grace the ALDAcon stage. With a wealth of experience in organizational leadership and community engagement, Rosenblum will share insights on a world of equality for late-deafened individuals. His presentation is titled, “Where the Heck Do We Get Equality?!?!?” His expertise and commitment to equality make him a valuable addition to the conference program.
